Sustainability
Luxury that respects the Earth and its people
OUR COMMITMENT
Fashion with a Conscience
At Peruboros, sustainability isn’t a marketing buzzword—it’s woven into everything we do. From the high Andean pastures where our alpacas roam freely, to the skilled hands of our artisan partners, to the moment you unwrap your purchase, we consider our impact at every step.
We believe that true luxury means knowing your purchase does good. Good for the people who made it, good for the communities they live in, and good for the planet we all share.
Gentle on the Land
Alpacas have soft, padded feet that don’t damage grasslands like hooves do. They graze without pulling up roots, allowing vegetation to regenerate naturally.
Natural Fiber
Alpaca fiber is 100% natural and biodegradable. Unlike synthetic materials, it returns to the earth without leaving microplastics behind.
Eco-Friendly Processes
We use traditional, water-efficient dyeing methods where possible, and all our packaging is plastic-free and recyclable.
Community Investment
We reinvest in the communities we work with, supporting education, healthcare, and infrastructure in the Peruvian highlands.
THE SOURCE
Why Alpaca is Sustainable
Alpacas are remarkable animals. Native to the Andes, they’ve evolved over millions of years to thrive in some of Earth’s harshest conditions. This natural hardiness makes them one of the most sustainable livestock animals on the planet.
Unlike sheep or goats, alpacas have soft, padded feet that don’t damage fragile grasslands. They’re efficient grazers, eating only what they need and leaving roots intact. They require less water and food than most animals, and their fleece regrows annually—providing a renewable, cruelty-free fiber.
The result is fiber that’s not only incredibly soft and warm, but also produced with a remarkably small environmental footprint.
